"What's the BEST that can happen?"
UNFOLDING is a brand new musical. I wrote the book, lyrics & music and am developing it in Cambridge with the support of Between the Bars theatre company. It marks my first ever attempt to write a musical, and the experience has been magical; even winning the Stiles+Drewe prize in Dec 2024 for my song, 'It Starts Small'. Following a workshop in January, Between the Bars have just announced a full staging: 10th-13th SEPT at the ADC Theatre - Tickets now on sale!
SYNOPSIS:
Rose is turning forty. Stuck in a dead-end job and living in the shadow of her father’s suicide, she escapes into her letters with Mark, a man on the other side of the world who she’s never met. For nearly thirty years Rose has been braver on paper than in person, but when Mark’s letters suddenly stop, everything changes. Rose is about to learn that life is not always what it seems on paper, and that the greatest adventures really do start with just one step.
Featuring the award-winning song ‘It Starts Small’, UNFOLDING is a new original musical about friendship, fear, and finding your way back to yourself.

Cambridge's talented and vibrant theatre community means a lot to me, so having that community behind me (and beside me with Between the Bars!) means the world.
Since Oct 2024 I have been a beneficiary of Mercury Creatives, a professional development programme for the cultural sector. As part of my engagement on this programme, I am currently undergoing 8 hours of mentoring support from Simon Hardwick. The Mercury Creatives programme is funded by Arts Council England, Essex County Council and Tendring District Council and is being delivered by the Mercury Theatre, Colchester.
I am also a proud Mercury Musical Developments member. Joining changed my life. What a phenomenal organisation!
